Scottish Romance on the Isle of Skye

In this sweeping Scottish epic we return to the Isle of Skye and travel north from MacLaoch lands to Blackhart Manor. Here a botanical holy grail, a family curse and a ghost tied to the land come to life.

The Story

Eight hundred years ago, Sir John Robert Blackhart returned to England a darkly privileged man. He was given a swath of land in the north of Scotland and built himself an estate worthy of a knight who slaughtered in the name of King Richard the Lionheart.

Despite his riches, Blackhart’s boots carried a seed that possessed the power to bind Blackhart’s blood-soaked deeds to the soil they were planted in. Then, during Samhain, when the winds were calm and the soil just damp, the house of Blackhart was given a choice: live a life of generosity or curse the next generations to turmoil.

Rose Rosario is the child of botanical rock stars and has crossed the Atlantic to find her own botanical niche. (And hopes too that no one had heard of her familial duo, Rosario and Walsh.) As soon as she arrives at the Gothic Blackhart Manor for an internship, she stumbles upon a legend that has dark roots dating back to the Crusades. And unbelievably, encased within it is the botanical holy grail.

As soon as Rose begins to realize that more than her dreams are about to be actualized, she’s blocked by the only man who has the ability to make or destroy her discovery.

The heir to Blackhart Manor, Lord Ethan Blackhart, never wanted his title. And Blackhart Manor? He wants to burn it to the ground. His childhood memories are painful, and the halls remind him of them every step he takes. Ethan spent the better part of his life on the pitch, taking headers and f*cking up his opponents as ‘Bullet Blackhart’ in England’s Premier Football League. Tearing his hamstring in the final game on that Survival Sunday two years earlier cost him a red card, his team the game, and ultimately ended his career. He was unceremoniously retired and found himself in the last place he ever wanted to be.

As Ethan moves to finalize the sale of Blackhart Manor, he comes up against an opponent he didn’t see coming. Rose Rosario proves to be her own kind of powerhouse, teaching him that, at its core, kindness is stronger than rage. And just as he feels like she’s going to take him to his knees, the manor unloads one last surprise that neither one of them sees coming. In their quest for answers, the mighty will learn humility, and the humble will know strength, and bound together, both will find a love like never before.
