Spring has Sprung
It’s been a wild six months since I posted last. We got hijacked by audiobook pirates, book 4 of the legend series is underway and a shiny new cover got made for a shiny new series.
The audiobook pirates’ story is a grim tale with a happy-ish ending. We got our titles back, but had to trade 7 years’ worth of rights to Amazon’s Audible (ACX) platform to keep it from happening again. The episode shed a stark light on a rapidly monetizing industry that is gobbling up authors faster than you can say where’d-my-rights-go? More on that in the Pirates of ACX post here. The takeaway? We have had to push pause on putting out an audiobook. Read more on why here.
The Legend 3 release went swimmingly, and those wondering if there will be a book 4, let me be clear: Yes, there will!
In Legend 4, we’ll see more of the Baker family and an estranged individual from Rowan’s side of the family. And of course, there are antics and our favorite characters from beginning to end.
All while writing Legend 2 & 3, I started another series. It’s gone through a few iterations, but I’ve settled on a proper title: The Ghost of Blackhart Manor. More on that next week. (Can we feel the suspense?!)
These days, while I’m writing two novels (sometimes 3) at a time, it’s nice to get out and get some sunshine on my face and let my brain relax in all the petals. Below are some that captured my eye.
Are there flowering trees where you are? What types do you have?
The cherries, hawthorne, magnolia, dogwood, and crabapple in these photos rustle when the breeze flows through them, and if you time it just right the cherry trees will shower you with petals. It’s the loveliest kind of rain.
Until next time, sweets. Aloha.
